Evan Courtney
PBS Certifier & Civil Engineer
Evan has over 10 years’ experience in the heavy vehicle industry. Before becoming an accredited PBS Certifier, he worked at the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) in both the Road Access division and the Performance Based Standards (PBS) team.
He started Tri Axle Group in 2020 after seeing that the industry was short on quality advice for PBS and road access.
Having worked on both sides of the process, Evan knows where the access opportunities are and how PBS can work for your business. He helps transport companies use that knowledge to get more payload, more access and a real edge on the competition.
Outside work, you’ll find him running or playing touch football.
Joel Johnston
Access & PBS Consultant
Joel is a Consultant for Tri Axle Group with almost 4 years of experience at the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. Much of this time was in the Access division which provided him with a firm understanding of the notices, permits and schemes governing heavy vehicle road access for general freight vehicles and performance based standards.
After proving his logistical knowledge, he was promoted to a Technical Officer in the Performance Based Standards team where he administered Vehicle Approvals and played a major hand in shaping policy.
Joel enjoys handyman work, playing soccer and is an avid hobbyist mechanic regularly pulling apart and putting back together one of his many cars.
